About Me

Hello there. :) I have been known as Kino throughout various online anime/cosplay/dollfie/gaming/gothic lolita/etc. communities for quite a few years now. I originally got into anime when I was 10, starting out with Sailor Moon. Initially, I was apart of AOL's budding anime mailing list community, which is how I was introduced to computer graphics and web design. Like many fans, I enjoyed cosplay for a couple of years before I rendered it too expensive of a side-fandom. I am a five-year attendee of the Fanime Convention in San Jose, and a newcomer to San Diego Comic Con. These days, I enjoy reading/watching/collecting various series of anime (mainly darker stories like BLOOD+, Museum of Terror, Hellsing, RahXephon, MONSTER, Petshop of Horrors, etc). Like most fans, I will enjoy just about anything I get my hands on, except for trite story lines we've all seen and heard a million times (you know which ones I'm talking about ;p).

Aside from all that, I'm an art history major @ SFSU and I hope to one day write my master's thesis about anime as a contemporary art movement. I've also been playing guitar for 13 (almost 14) years and spend a lot of time doing that. ^_^ I'm also desperately trying to get my boyfriend Peter into anime, I'll let you know how that goes.
